1. Set up properly. Your front shoulder should be higher than your back shoulder with the ball placed off the toes of the forward foot. Elbows should be pointed more toward your hips. This position will help you launch it long and straight.

4. Come to recognize that if you are going to be good at golf you need to master the long irons, and the only way to do that is by practicing playing lots of shots with them, until you are comfortable hitting them. Be assured, there will be many occasions on the golf course that you will be glad you spent the time practising.
